NeighborWorks receives Impact Award from National NeighborWorks Association

NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania (NeighborWorks) received the Organizational Impact Award during the National NeighborWorks Association (NNA) 20th Annual Excellence Awards in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, April 10.

The Organizational Impact award is awarded to an organization that exemplifies success and achievement within the community development field, serving as a model for others to follow. This organization consistently demonstrates perseverance, with leadership and staff dedicated to advancing their work to higher levels of success. Their efforts result in significant accomplishments for the communities they serve, often through the implementation of best practices and innovative approaches.

Over the past five years, NeighborWorks has demonstrated remarkable growth through expanding its geographic reach, launching 12 new programs, and significantly increasing its operating budget and staff size. NeighborWorks’ commitment to addressing challenging neighborhood and community issues is evident through aiding over 700 seniors with home modifications and accessibility improvements through the Aging in Place program. Additionally, the expansion of the Beautiful Blocks program has rallied over 80 block groups to undertake over 600 home improvement projects in their neighborhoods.

“We are deeply honored to accept this prestigious award from the National NeighborWorks Association,” said Jesse Ergott, President & CEO of NeighborWorks Northeastern PA. “It reflects the tireless dedication and unwavering commitment of our team to advancing community development and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. This recognition reaffirms our mission and inspires us to continue pushing boundaries, innovating, and striving for excellence in all that we do.”

The National NeighborWorks Association Awards showcase the leaders and organizations that are making significant accomplishments in their communities. They serve as a source of inspiration for everyone working to build a “Network of Excellence.” The awards reflect a wide range of diversity and inclusion throughout this network.
