What recent professional accomplishment are you most proud of and why?

Hearing directly how training and coaching that I led positively transformed a department that was in chaos.

What made you want to get into your chosen profession?

I knew that it would be a perfect blend of all of my interest in working with people, law and passion for transformation.

What is your favorite part of your job?

The testimonials from working professionals that could not get hired in six months or more but were able to get interviews and a new job within three weeks of working together. Also, the testimonials from small business owners that could not sleep at night worrying about the "wrong hire" now saying that they could not have asked for a better person on their team.

What advice would you give to someone else looking to get into your field?

Interview others in HR and make sure you are called to it. HR has a lot of influence and has to wear many hats that require high emotional maturity and intelligence.

How do you give back to the community outside your work?

Partner with other nonprofit organizations that provide community outreach for working families. For example, a month ago I led a community giveaway for the Randallstown community with a nonprofit, Give Life.

Why did you choose to live in the Baltimore area and what has kept you here?

I am called to Baltimore. I lived in [Prince George's] County and even moved to Pensacola, Florida, but Baltimore is my home. Despite the bad rep, the people here are the most down to earth and while others see problems to run away from, I sincerely see opportunities.
