New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team announced its incoming class for the 2020 season Tuesday. The Hawks are a year removed from a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship, and earned a spot in the 2019 SUNYAC Tournament last season after finishing 15-14 overall and 5-4 in conference play.
Although SUNY New Paltz coach
Matt Giufre will be taking a year off from the bench next season as he fills the role of Interim Director of Athletics, Wellness and Recreation, he was excited to bring in a talented group that will impact the program beyond 2020.
Giufre talks about each of his incoming Hawks below:

Dana Collins '24 (setter)
Far Hills, NJ
Ridge High School
Atlantic Valley Volleyball Club
"Dana is a smart setter with very consistent, reliable set location. She has a lot of potential and I look forward to working with her through her career."

Sam Cox '24 (outside hitter)
Sag Harbor, NY
Pierson High School
LI Blaze Club
"Sam is a very good all-around volleyball player and outside hitter. She is equally effective offensively and defensively with a good sense of the game. She is a nice addition to our program."

Cate DiGiacomo '24 (setter)
West Hartford, CT
Conard High School
Husky Volleyball Club
"Cate is a strong athlete with good setter intellect and volleyball skills. I am looking forward to working with her and watching her develop during her four years. She is loaded with potential."
Camilla Jensen '24 (outside hitter)
Centerport, NY
Harborfields High School
"Camilla is a very good outside hitter whose strength is in passing and defense, which is not found as often today. She can certainly hold her own offensively as well. She's another solid all-around player for us."

Grace Rosenberg '23 (setter)
Lido Beach, NY
Long Beach High School
Seton Hall Transfer
"Grace is a very talented setter with strong college experience. She can run a fast, consistent offense, score points on her own, and has a serve that will be a huge weapon for our team. I am thrilled to have her join us."

Haylee Scarincio '24 (libero)
South Glens Falls, NY
South Glens Falls High School
Lakeside Volleyball Club
"Haylee is a libero that is very difficult to score on. She covers a lot of court and is always in position to make plays, making opposing hitters miserable. She is up for any challenge."

Mackenzie Williams '24 (outside hitter)
Windsor, NY
Windsor High School
Whirlwind Volleyball Club
"Mack is a dominant offensive weapon as an outside hitter with a big arm and good game awareness. Her offense is so good sometimes her other skills get overlooked, but Mack is a complete player. She is a high level athlete and can be a big impact player at this level. I'm excited to work with her and see what she can do at this level."
