About the Faculty of Law and Business:

Comprising two schools, the Peter Faber Business School and the Thomas More Law School, the Faculty of Law and Business provides both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs across a range of business disciplines and law. The Faculty is staffed by a dedicated, nationally and internationally recognised team of academics whose teaching is supported by their active involvement in relevant industries, professional industries, professional associations or links to eminent international business and law schools, as well as their research. Teaching staff have an established research record with a commitment to conducting research in areas aligned with the broad values of the University mission as well as innovative industry led projects. The Thomas More Law School is one of Australia's most dynamic Law Schools. Our aspiration is to be a national Law School with strong international links facilitated by an existing international network of Catholic law schools and an active presence at ACU's Rome Campus. The School's Law programs are global, ethical and practical in focus, built on our commitment to the Rule of Law, personal dignity, thriving communities, and the Common Good. About the role:

As Lecturer, you'll enhance the teaching and research foci of the Thomas More Law School in the fields of criminology and criminal justice, by advancing the profile of the Thomas More Law School and making a significant contributions to the School's teaching and research strengths. You'll also drive innovative and engaged learning and demonstrate commitment to the Mission and Ethos of the university.

More specifically the role entails:

• Teaching at undergraduate and in future, at postgraduate levels, in a number of areas of Criminology, Criminal Justice or Law and undertake student assessment.
• Participating in teaching and learning, including curriculum development and implementation and the application of information and communication technologies to facilitate student learning.
• Undertaking academic administration functions to support teaching and learning such as coordinating a subject area.
• Participating in an active scholarship/research agenda appropriate to the nature of the position, leading to grants and publications.
• Developing projects of high quality and impact relevant to the Law School's research program in Criminology and Criminal Justice.
• Creating and maintaining relationships with external organisations and community engagement partnerships.

You will need to have:

• Completed PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice or a relevant area of Law.
• Demonstrated experience teaching in criminology, criminal justice or a relevant area of the law and evidence demonstrating the quality of that teaching.
• A track record in undertaking high-quality research in Criminology and Criminal Justice, evidenced by a strong publication record and plans to attract research grants.
• Demonstrated experience in performing duties relating to academic administration, curriculum development and unit coordination in Criminology and Criminal Justice, including a strong contribution to the governance and collegial life within the University.
• Demonstrate confidence and courage to achieve ACU's Mission, Vision and Values by connecting the purpose of one's work to ACU's Mission, Vision and Values.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with colleagues on significant teaching, research and/or institutional projects.
• An ability to take personal accountability for achieving high quality outcomes through an understanding of organisational context, self-reflection, and aspiring to and striving for excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to plan work effectively and simultaneously meet tight timeframes to manage a number of complex and competing matters.

Total remuneration valued to $123,584 - $145,913 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $104,430 - $123,298 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level B), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
