June 2025 Project Update:
We hosted the second all-faculty and staff Workday Student Project Update on June 5, 2025. Attendees heard about key design decisions made so far, got a preview of upcoming priorities leading up to the December 2025 design completion, and listened to updates from project teams across Records, Curriculum & Advising, Admissions & Recruitment, Academic Foundations, Student Financials, and Financial Aid. The session also offered opportunities to ask questions and deepen understanding of the evolving Workday Student system.

We hosted the first all-faculty and staff Workday Student Project Update on January 15, 2025. Individuals had the chance to learn about what has been designed and decided so far and get an early-stage glimpse of Workday Student.

August 2025 Highlights
Meet Workday Assistant
Workday Assistant is now available! This feature is an AI chatbot built directly into Workday, making it easier than ever to get things done using natural language. Whether you're managing your own tasks or supporting your team, Workday Assistant can help you do things such as:
- Request time off
- Find information about the employees you manage
- Update personal information
- Search for and launch tasks, reports, and business processes
- Access step-by-step help articles and training content as you work
Once you sign into Workday, a small chat bubble is located at the top right of the screen. If you click on the icon, you are accessing Workday Assistant and can begin interacting with it.
You’ll start seeing more tips and demonstrations on using Workday Assistant this fall. To learn more, check out the Help Article.
Now Available: Workday Student Leader & Liaison Rosters
As part of GVSU’s transition to Workday Student, two important support groups have been established: the Workday Leader Network and the Workday Student Liaisons. These individuals will play a key role in facilitating a smooth and successful implementation across the university.
Each college or area has designated one or more representatives to serve in these groups, acting as resources and communication bridges throughout the project. We invite you to explore the full rosters to see who is representing your area:
