WaveMakers in Medicine

Zabrina Reyes, a fourth-year Tulane University School of Medicine student, won the American Academy of Neurology‘s 2023 Roland P. Mackay Award. Reyes won this year’s award for her essay about the history and first documented case of multiple sclerosis. She told Neurology Today that winning the contest validated what she’s been learning in the classroom and clinic. “I’ve been shadowing here and there and learning about the brain,” Reyes said, “and I went for my clerkship, but nothing has affirmed me like that until the essay in a way.”
