Guitarist Bob Bronzman, equally capable at playing blues or ethnic folk styles, has also been quite proficient at traditional Hawaiian music. He teamed with legendary vocalists Tau and Rose Moe, both 80, plus Lani Moe on ukulele and Dorian Moe on rhythm guitar, on this session featuring vintage tunes with Brozman assisting on Hawaiian and harp guitars. While the arrangements do have a lilting flavor, The Moes' singing is enticing and poignant, delivered with an innocence and earnestness that only comes from people singing without pretension. They perform happy, romantic, lyrical numbers, and Brozman's instrumental prowess takes a back seat to the joy and vitality of The Moes' vocals.
