Ying Maggie Chen, MD, PhD, was awarded an R56 Grant, Benjamin Humphreys, MD, PhD, Chief of Nephrology, received the 2024 National Kidney Foundation Award of Excellence, and Jose Saenz, MD, PhD, was honored with an NIH R01 Award, to name just a few. Nathaniel Hogrebe, PhD, WashU Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Lipid Research, has always had an interest in science, and now, as a junior faculty member in the Millman Lab, he has steadily built a career as a leader in diabetes research, working closely with Dr. Millman to pioneer cutting-edge research in stem cell-derived islets (SC-islets).
