Please tell me about your personal history and how you got into the cannabis business.
I’ve been using the plant since I was an early teen. That is how I was introduced to it. I’ve been in business since 2019. I bought a duplex and we built a brand, just trying to inspire the community on how to be a community. It was more like a cooperative, just a small group of people working with each other, being as passionate as I am about the cannabis industry and looking to turn a dollar over in real life. Because when you go to stores with just your brand, they want it on consignment. When you come with rolling papers and lifestyle items and stuff like that, it’s just a couple hundred bucks. They don’t mind getting you paid off or creating way lesser terms than what they’re looking for when you get into the thousands [of dollars]. So coming out with a THC accessory linen led us to acquire more carriers. We met Shawn Weber with Crested River Cannabis Co., and he helped us release our beverages and gummies, and here we are.
What led you to want open this shop here?
That’s an easy one. We were in almost 200 stores. We have a couple warehouses that distribute our products as partners, and we were looking for ways we could help them move and distribute more products to more carriers. So we just became one.
What kinds of products are you making?
We have relationships with manufacturers, cultivators, chefs and breweries, so we have our own THC drinks that we formulated with Shawn at Crested River. That was fun. We came up with the same flavors for edibles, just to offer more [products] for people looking for gummies from us. But we originally started with rolling papers and cones.
Which is your favorite?
People are gonna be mad. I’ll say drinks, the Stoned Limone.
Are there any additional products coming in the pipeline, or anything you’d like to do?
Ice cream and sorbet. It would be a collab. We’re looking to create all of our own products, but as of right now, where we’re at is we want to collaborate through the market and keep it very communal.
You’re also planning to offer classes here?
That is the plan, now that we can house the whole operation. We already had growing classes and joint rolling classes, events and all that stuff. We even had a glass-blowing class, with glass artists. Now we have an HQ and we can do it all under one roof.
Do you plan to apply for a cannabis business license, when they become available?
Yes, a micro [license].
What would you like to do with that?
I would love to sell weed, but more importantly, to help educate people and pull together all of the resources for people to feel comfortable in a lounge space with weed, as we destigmatize it.
Where would you like to see your business in, say, three to five years?
As of right now, we’re in a very primitive state. I would just like to be a more mature company, as far as having the correct licensing, the right relationships and equipment to scale. Not grossing millions, but well on track for that.
What’s your preferred method of consuming cannabis?
Smoking flower in a joint.
Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know?
We host concerts. We’re the ones who brought Curren$y up, we brought Devin the Dude. Our next show will be Larry June, this spring at the Cabooze. Get ready.
