Shelly Parini introduces Women In Leadership and Management Academy panelists Tona Brewer, Angela Fox, Diana Helm and Debra Mason.
The Museum of the Oregon Territory's Tumwater Room was packed with hundreds of people on Oct. 26 to watch the female managers accept their awards for excellence. Clackamas County commissioners and State Rep. Mark Meek attended the event, along with several city councilors and Clackamas Community College board members.
Clackamas Fire Chief Fred Charlton, who is the chair of the chamber board, introduced the Women In Leadership and Management Academy (WILMA), which was founded about a year ago to help women grow in their profession and develop peer-to-peer relationships. As far as Charlton knows, there has never been anyone named "Wilma" involved with the six-month program.
