About the Victorian Cadastral Surveys Practice Directives
The Victorian Cadastral Surveys Practice Directives provide guidance to licensed surveyors on how to interpret the legislative requirements for cadastral surveys and the processes to follow when performing them.
The practice directives were updated in July 2021 and replace the previous version, from July 2018.
All cadastral surveys started on or after 31 July 2021 must comply with the Victorian Cadastral Surveys Practice Directives July 2021. The directives include updated requirements for the marking of boundaries in cadastral surveys and Records of having re-established a cadastral boundary (RE Plans).
The updated practice directives also discuss the connection of cadastral surveys to the Survey Control Network (SCN) and Map Grid of Australia 2020 (MGA2020) as well as the preparation of survey documents by licensed surveyors and other matters about cadastral surveying.
The practice directives were updated again as Edition 2 on 1 July 2022 following the introduction of the requirement that all cadastral surveys commenced after 1 July 2022 except partial survey subdivisions and Records of having re-established a cadastral boundary connect to MGA2020.
