Pipelines to Pathways: Humanizing Diversity in STEM Conference

This conference seeks to refocus and rehumanize the persons impacted by national broadening participation (BP) efforts in STEM by dismantling Campbell’s (2002) Pipeline concept that inherently commoditized underrepresented minorities in STEM. In order to reintegrate a humanistic approach to cultivating and retaining talent from minoritized populations, this face-to-face and virtual conference will present three tracks (implementation, research, evaluation) with multiple topics within those tracks. The goal of the conference is to change the national dialogue surrounding Broadening Participation to a more culturally aware and person-centered conversation.
