UT Arlington is closed on July 4 for the Independence Day holiday. In addition, President Cowley has granted a campus closure on July 5 in recognition of the July 4th Independence Day holiday weekend.
This decision serves as a token of appreciation for UTA employees' hard work and dedication to our mission. As UTA continues to make progress toward our shared dreams, we appreciate your continual pursuit of excellence.
UTA’s July 4th holiday break will include closing campus on Friday, July 5, and normal operations will resume on Monday, July 8. Employees who are working on a Summer Flex schedule should plan in advance and adjust their schedules as necessary. Due to state limitations on the holiday and early release, we are only able to grant up to eight hours of holiday and eight hours of early release time.
Recording the early release in TCP
The Office of Talent, Culture, and Engagement has prepared instructions for employees and managers on how to record the early release in TCP.
Campus Recreation, UTA Libraries, the University Center and Commons, Dining Services, and Parking and Transportation Services have posted their service hours for this early closure opportunity and the ensuing holiday break. Any additional operations updates will be shared via MavWire.
Given the variety of work across campus, final decisions about early release should be made at the department and unit levels. Employees and supervisors should work together to ensure operational continuity and availability of student support services while taking advantage of this early release opportunity to the fullest extent possible.
Thank you again for your contributions to UTA and all that you do in support of our community.
