Q: What led you to a career in banking?
A: I started working part time in the mortgage division of a community bank when my children were young. One day, an opportunity became available to be the full-time marketing director at the bank. My children were older, and I thought here is my opportunity to work in my major which was marketing. Twenty-three years later, I am still in community bank marketing.

Q: What was the most useful piece of advice you received in the early/formative years of your career?
A: Build and nurture relationships both inside and outside the organization. Be accountable. And, if you do not have the answer…find it!

Q: Tell us about one experience you’ve had that exemplifies being a banker or your role at the bank.
A: I really cannot think of just one experience; instead, I reflect on the phenomenal teams I have worked with in my career. I have been extremely fortunate to have been a part of highly successful teams that have helped our banks and communities grow and thrive.

Q: What would someone be surprised to learn about you?
A: I can’t think of anything! I’m a pretty traditional southern woman who appreciates classic styles, good manners, and lots of family time!
