BOOze at the Zoo

Grab your best costume and celebrate spooky season at the Zoo with unlimited BOOze samples, trick-or-treating, live DJ, and plenty of party animals! With some of the best vendors and festive scenery, BOOze at the Zoo is sure to be the wildest costume party in Nashville!

What to Expect

  • Some of our signature Boo at the Zoo features will be open to treat your inner child. Take a stroll through Trick-or-Treat Trail to get a few treats, explore festive scenes, then meet Gourdon the Talking Pumpkin for some classic jokes and sassy one-liners.
  • Enjoy free rides on the Scary-Go-Round Carousel all night
  • We've conjured up a solid line-up of our favorite adult beverage vendors to offer unlimited samples of their best beers, wines and cocktails.
    • Including: Alma de Jaguar, Beatbox, Better Than Booze, Black Abbey Brewing, Blue Note Bourbon Corrido Tequilla, Craft Standard Margarita, Cutwater, Durham Distillery Conniption Gin, Frugal MacDoogal, Ghost Train, Insolito Tequila, Liquid Death, Log Still Distillery, Merican Mule, Mom Juice, Mom Water, Nelson's Green Brier Distillery, Nutrl, Outlaw Brewing, TailGate Brewery, Union Wine Company, YeeHaw Brewing
  • Several local food trucks will also be in attendance with food available for purchase.
    • Including: Grilled Cheeserie, Bad Luck Burger Club, Inka Trailer, Sausfries, TN Tatercakes, Steaming Goat, Southern Spoon
  • Join our costume contest for a chance to win a behind-the-scenes tour!
  • The Zoo will be all decked out in festive decor perfect for your Instagram photoshoot.
  • Check out the "Event Rules" below for the costume guidelines
  • Most of our animals like to go to bed early, but some party animals will stay up late including Sumatran tigers, our flamingo flock and Unseen New World.
  • Be sure to catch some special animal themed shows at the amphitheater and watch out for animal encounters throughout the night!

Ticket Details

General Admission | $80*
Ages 21+. Entry time is 6:30 pm. $10 from each ticket supports the Zoo's conservation efforts. Designated driver tickets are available for $45.

*Members save $5 per ticket through 10/5!

Tickets go on sale August 16 around 10:00 am.

  • 7:00 & 8:00 pm: Animal Shows at the Amphitheater
  • 8:30 pm: Animal Exhibit Bedtime Begins
  • 9:00 pm: Costume Contest at the Monster Mash DJ Tent - enter for a chance to win a Backstage Tour!
  • 9:30 pm: Event Closes
  • Please note here that no weapons are allowed as part of costumes
  • 1st Place winners will be awarded a souvenir trophy, free backstage tour up to 4 people, and 4 tickets to Kaitlin Butts' 2nd Annual Cosmic Country Costume Kegger
    • 2nd & 3rd place will be awarded 2 tickets to the above event

Know Before You Go

  • This event is ages 21+ only, no exceptions. Children are not permitted.
  • We encourage guests to wear costumes but please note that the zoo does not allow any kind of weapon, fake or real. Costumes that expose excessive portions of the skin are also prohibited.  The Zoo reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing a costume or attire that is considered inappropriate or could detract from the experience of other guests.
  • No weapons of any kind.
  • No illegal substances.
  • Smoking (including vaping) is only permitted in a designated area, which will be noted on the festival map. Please do not smoke anywhere else. If found smoking in other areas, you will be asked to leave.
  • No outside food or beverages. Water will be provided. Empty reusable water bottles are permitted.
  • No pets.
  • Please respect yourself, your fellow patrons and the Zoo property.
Be responsible. Don’t drink and drive.

Guests are strongly encouraged to arrive and depart via rideshare or have a designated driver.

Parking at Nashville Zoo will be FREE starting at 5pm. Please remember that parking is free during the event, but if you leave your car overnight it must be removed from the Zoo between 6am and 10am or your car will be towed.

 

Featured Conservation Organization: Ny Tanintsika

Ny Tanintsika is a Madagascar nonprofit organization focused on reducing lemur poaching, habitat loss and empowering local communities via more sustainable agriculture systems.

A portion of every ticket sale benefits Ny Tanintsika. Visit the Nashville Chapter of the American Association of Zookeepers' pumpkin patch at the event for more ways to support this conservation organization.
