What's Going On at UCL?

Our Mission

University Connected Learning (UCL) provides the U's enabling services, programs, and tools that connect U students and community learners with flexible educational offerings, allowing them to learn, return, and refresh throughout their careers and a lifetime of learning.

We connect:

  • faculty and students to the technology, services, and data that enhance learning and teaching;

  • academic departments and the U as a whole to communities through programs and services that support learning and community engagement;

  • the world to the U through engaging programs and learning for a lifetime.

What are we working on?

Campus Strategy Refresh

In alignment with The University of Utah campus’ Strategy 2025, University Connected Learning is working to meet students where they are, serve and engage our wider communities, expand online and certificate offerings, develop and strengthen partnerships, and prepare students for a dynamic and global workforce. Read more about the U’s Strategy 2025 and our commitment to being the University for Utah.

Inclusive Design & Design Justice

University Connected Learning has brought in Dr. Amy Collier, Associate Provost for Digital Learning at Middlebury College, to lead a series of workshops on Inclusive Design & Design Justice for faculty across the U. By promoting the importance of Inclusive Design & Design Justice and providing education and resources on how to implement it, we hope to ensure design practices at the U that reflect the needs and experiences of all students, not just those who fall within the majority.
