The Tennessee State Library and Archives invites Tennessee teachers to attend a workshop exploring how a wilderness area of North Carolina became the state of Tennessee. Focusing on primary sources, this workshop will explore the western expansion that leads to the creation of the Watauga Settlement, the Cumberland Settlement, the Lost State of Franklin, and ultimately converts the Southwest Territory into the state of Tennessee.

Teacher participants receive lunch and a $50 stipend to assist with mileage and travel.
