After School

The YMCA serves Magellan two ways, with programs based on-site at school and a program based at the A.E. Finley YMCA (transportation included). Spaces are limited and school or branch-based programs may not appear as an option when they are at capacity.

At YMCA After School, kids expand their learning beyond the classroom. We use a balanced curriculum that supports learning through active play and a focus on character development and social-emotional learning. We also offer a quiet space and support for students to work on their homework Monday through Thursday afternoons.

During the week, students will participate in various enrichment activities with opportunities for skill development, physical activity and fun.

After School is held from school dismissal until 6 p.m. 

Cost & Registration

Yearly After School is offered as 5 days per week.

Additionally, the Y offers After School at the A.E. Finley YMCA (3, 4 and 5-day options, weekly registration available), with bus transportation to the branch.

Prices are adjusted based on the number of days. The cost per day increases when fewer than five days a week are chosen.

Our Staff

YMCA counselors are energetic and enjoy working with children. We train our counselors to be leaders and positive role models. Most are high school and college-aged students.
