LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD is investigating after they say a man shot and killed a woman before turning the gun on himself in the Shawnee neighborhood.
MetroSafe told WDRB the shooting was reported at 35th and Main Streets just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
That's where LMPD Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said a woman was shot and killed in the middle of the street in front of the North Central Church of Christ.
While officers were responding to the scene they heard gunshots in the area and found a man with self-inflicted gunshot wounds, according to Mitchell.
Police believe the man is the person who shot the woman, who they say he had "some sort of intimate relationship" with. He is in critical condition at University Hospital.
