At least five dead after Memorial Day weekend shootings, others injured

A rash of shootings over Memorial Day weekend left at least five people dead and multiple others injured, according to the Memphis Police Department.

On Saturday, officers found a man and a woman dead at 3920 Fun Valley Drive. The shooting may have been a murder-suicide, police said. The woman was identified as Heather White, 35, and the deceased suspect was identified as Terry White, 45. 

Also on Saturday, a man died after being shot inside the Soulsville Dixie Queen where he worked. The suspect fled in a white sedan, police said.

On Sunday, a man was shot at 1310 S. Bellevue Blvd, later dying from his injuries. A woman was also shot and taken to Region One Health in critical condition. The male suspect drove a brown Cadillac, according to Memphis police. 

Another man died from his injuries after being shot at 436 Cambridge Sunday. 

There were other shootings throughout the holiday weekend that caused injuries, according to the Memphis Police Department: One Saturday at 2307 Poe Ave that left a man in critical condition at Regional One. That suspect wore a black shirt and gray pants and fled in a blue Chevrolet Silverado with a trailer. 

A shooting at Trinity Road and North Germantown Parkway Sunday left another man in critical condition. One man was detained. 

On Monday morning, officers responded to a shooting at 6523 Ivy Meadows, where they found a man who had been shot. The man was taken to Regional One in critical condition.

And Monday afternoon, a man was shot at 3736 Windmere and taken to Regional One in critical condition. The suspect in that shooting, a woman, was last seen wearing a gray shirt and blue shorts. She fled the scene in a blue minivan, according to police.
