Globalize DC is seeking interested and highly motivated DC students for its SY2018-19 JAPANESE PLUS Program. JAPANESE PLUS is an afterschool Japanese language, culture, and career exposure program open for free to DCPS and DC charter high school students. This is a fun but intensive program that will meet twice a week - Wednesdays after school (4:30-6:30 pm) and Saturday mornings (9 am-12 noon), plus additional meetings, from September 2018 through May 2019. Meetings will take place at Columbia Heights Education Campus at 16th & Irving Streets, NW. Students who successfully complete the program may be able to earn high school credit towards graduation.
We will select up to 25 students for the SY2018-19 program. Preference will be for 10th and 11th graders, although rising freshmen and seniors are welcome to apply. We are seeking students who have both the interest and the high level of commitment to fulfill the requirements of this program.
Any student with an interest in applying should complete the Application Form below as soon as possible. Incomplete forms will not be accepted. We will be reviewing applications in the order in which they are received. Final selections will not take place until the fall (August-September 2018). Expect to be contacted by email regarding your status and next steps. Be sure that your contact information below (phone number and email address) is current and accurate.
