The Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (CVM) celebrated Staff Appreciation Week April 22-26 with daily events and prizes.

“Staff Appreciation Week gives the opportunity to express gratitude during an entire week in many different ways,” said Dr. Eleanor M. Green, the Carl B. King Dean of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M.

“Our staff makes so many things happen, whether behind the scenes or way out in front,” she said. “You contribute to the welcoming, inclusive culture we value. Please know we appreciate you every single day.”

On Monday, staff members were invited to take a short trivia quiz to be entered into a drawing for a free one-night stay at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center and breakfast for two at Brazos–Proper Texas Kitchen. Kathie Smith, CVM academic adviser for Graduate Studies, was announced as the winner on Friday.

For Taco Tuesday, free breakfast tacos were available for staff members at both the Critical Care Café and the VENI Building 3rd Floor Faculty & Staff Lounge.

Wednesday was Department Appreciation Day at Texas A&M.

CVM staff members were automatically entered into drawings for prizes, including items from the CVM Marketplace, free photo sessions with CVM photographer Tim Stephenson, and free meals, hotel stays, and more from various local companies. A total of 23 winners were announced throughout the day.

On Thursday, staff members were invited to enjoy free fruit or gelato ice pops from Stick ‘N Pops, available behind the Large Animal Hospital.

Finally, on Friday, the CVM hosted a Wellness Walk and gave out signature CVM insulated cooler tote bags as the 2019 CVM Staff Appreciation Week goodies.

Staff members were also encouraged to participate in additional university-wide and department-specific events during the week.
