Watching for venomous snakes as the weather warms up

As the weather warms up, many Brazos Valley residents are headed outdoors more--but so are Brazos Valley snakes.
"We recommend wearing pants and boots or other protective footwear if you're going to be walking through tall grass," said Rachel Ellerd, a vet student at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.
"And if you see a snake, just leave it alone and walk away," said Helen Griffin, another second-year A&M vet student.
There are only four types of venomous snakes found native in the Brazos Valley: copperheads, coral snakes, rattlesnakes, and cottonmouths.
"Know what these snakes look like," said Ellerd.
