Galloway, N.J. – The Stockton University women's cross country team reaped the rewards after winning the NJAC championship with one major award and
five all-conference accolades.
Nick McDonough was voted NJAC Coach of the Year for helming the Ospreys to the program's second NJAC title.
Senior
Jessie Klenk (Somerdale/Sterling) and sophomore
Kierstin Clem (Voorhees/Eastern) qualified for the NJAC First Team while senior
Jamie Wun (Moorestown/Moorestown), junior
Olivia Harris (Samammish, Wash./Eastlake) and freshman
Abigail Webb (Blackwood/Highland) earned NJAC Second Team spots.
Klenk, Clem, Harris and Webb all registered personal bests for six kilometers at the NJAC Championships, which took place on the Stockton campus on Saturday. The NJAC all-conference teams are based on individual finish at the NJAC Championships.
Klenk and Clem earned NJAC First Team nods for the second time. Klenk was the runner-up at the NJAC Championships by just 2.6 seconds with a time of 23:49.5. Clem ran 24:07.7 to finish in sixth place out of 81 runners at the conference meet.
Wun and Harris produced NJAC Second Team performances for the second time. Wun and Harris posted nearly identical times of 24:37.3 and 24:37.6 respectively to finish ninth and 10th at the NJAC Championships.
Webb gave Stockton five runners in the top 12 by finishing 12th with a time of 24:43.6 to snag an NJAC Second Team spot in her rookie year.
Stockton is ranked fourth in the Metro Region by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Ospreys will compete in the NCAA Metro Regionals on November 13.
