Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University won the NJAC championship in women's cross country for the second time in school history as the Ospreys posted a team score of 39 that was two better than runner-up TCNJ with 41. The Osprey men finished fourth at conference meet, which was held on the Stockton campus.
Stockton's top five runners all finished in the first 12 places and four of them recorded personal bests, led by
Jessie Klenk (Somerdale/Sterling) who was the runner-up in the field of 81 with career-best 23:49.5.
Kierstin Clem (Voorhees/Eastern) also notched a personal record with a time of 24:07.7 for sixth place.
Jamie Wun (Moorestown/Moorestown) posted a time of 24:37.3 for ninth place followed by
Olivia Harris (Sammamish, Wash./Eastlake) as the fourth Osprey in the top 10 with a personal best of 24:37.6 that was less than a second behind Wun.
Freshman
Abigail Webb (Blackwood/Highland) completed Stockton's group of five scoring runners in 12th place with a time of 24:43.6 that was a personal best. Stockton's only prior NJAC championship in women's cross country came in 2016.
Sam Tenenbaum (Monroe Twp./Monroe Twp.) was the top runner for the Stockton men's team as he finished 25th out of 110 with a time of 26:41.7.
Stephen Conte (Washington Twp./Paul VI) followed five seconds later in 26th place at 26:46.6.
Brandon Shymanski (Brick/Brick Memorial) finished 31st with a time of 26:54.2 and
Matthew Keidat (Margate/Holy Spirit) was 52nd with a personal best of 27:46.1.
Clayton Engle (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) ran 28:00.2 for 56th place in the 8K race.
Stockton will compete next in the NCAA Metro Regional, which will be hosted by Rowan University at Dream Park in Logan Township, N.J. on November 13.
