College’s observance of Passover will take place as scheduled

Dear Members of the Campus Community:

We write to confirm for all students, faculty and staff that the transition to remote teaching and learning will NOT affect the College’s observance of the Passover holiday.

The Passover break begins on Wednesday, April 8, at 3 p.m., and continues through Thursday and Friday, April 9 and 10.

Faculty who are holding synchronous online classes Wednesdays after 3 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays should not hold online class meetings while the Passover break is in effect.

Students who will be taking time to observe the holiday should communicate with faculty as soon as possible regarding absences for religious observations and be prepared to discuss plans for making up missed work.

Faculty will continue to respect the needs of our students and, in compliance with the New York State Education Law (Chapter 161, Section 224-a)2, honor students’ requests for such rescheduling and collaborate with them to determine a path to make up missed work.

Sincerely,

Stella Turk
