Campus login systems will be updated on Sunday, July 4

Effective July 4, users of my.newpaltz.edu and other systems will no longer see the old login screen (left), which will be replaced by the new, Office 365 login screen (right)

Update: The changes described below were made on July 4 as expected.  All systems appear to be working fine.  If you are having any issues – exit your browser completely (not just closing the tabs or window) and try again.  If you are still having issues, contact our Service Desk (servicedesk@newpaltz.edu or 845-257-HELP).

The login system for SUNY New Paltz services including my.newpaltz.edu and Blackboard will be updated on Sunday, July 4, at 10 a.m.

There may be a disruption in logins for up to an hour while we make these changes.

What will change?

With this update, the login screen that users see when logging into Office 365 (Outlook, OneDrive, etc.) will now also be the login screen for my.newpaltz.edu and other systems. This will establish a consistent login process across all platforms.

Students, faculty and staff will need to enter their full email address – not just their usernames – in order to log in using this interface. Your passwords will not be changed as a result of this update.

Example: If your username is hawk01, you’ll need to use hawk01@newpaltz.edu to log in.

Why are we making this change?

This login update is part of our ongoing effort to make the College’s systems more resilient against failures, including system or hardware failures, network outages on-campus, or even security incidents.

By expanding our use of the Office 365 login system to other campus platforms, we can ensure that systems like my.newpaltz.edu and Blackboard will still work, even if on-campus computer systems go offline for some reason.
