Fall 2023 Volunteer Sign-Up
Thanks for your interest in the Tufts Hillel Community Action Partners (HCAP) after school program for McGlynn, Andrews, and Somerville Middle School Students! We will host weekly programming at Tufts Hillel (220 Packard Avenue) from 3:30-4:45pm as follows: science/engineering on Tuesdays, art on Thursdays, and tutoring on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. Here is some important information:

  • The program begins on September, 26th (for the Tuesday program) and September 28th (for the Thursday program)

  • Volunteers should arrive at 3:15pm and stay until the middle schoolers leave Hillel at 4:45pm

  • Volunteers are expected to design lesson plans with their co-leaders for each session

  • Programming can be motivated by the interests of both volunteers and student participants

  • HCAP is happy to provide free materials for activities. Volunteers should submit all lesson plans and supply requests to Ben at (508) 665-9607 no later than 1 week before each session

  • Upon the day of usage, volunteers can gather supplies and return them if necessary at Lauren Bloom’s (Hillel Associate Director) office

  • On December 7th, HCAP will host an event showcasing student work to friends and family. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to attend

Please note the following dates on which the program will NOT run due to Jewish holidays, national holidays, and school breaks: 11/7, 11/23, 11/23. The last day of the Tuesday program will be 12/5 and the last day of the Thursday program will be 12/7.
