Student leaders from the SUNY New Paltz Management Association and our American Marketing Association chapter hosted an Etiquette Dinner as a networking and development opportunity for peer students, alumni, faculty and regional businesspeople on April 6.
The evening event was hosted at Mohonk Mountain House and included a four-course meal and presentation by Patrice Huart, their director of food & beverage.
“I can confidently say this was one of the most successful turnouts we have had in a long time,” said Megan Tomasic ’22 (Marketing), American Marketing Association chapter president. “The extensive amount of positive feedback I have received from both students and faculty has made me proud to serve as a leader in the New Paltz Business community.”
For many attendees, the Etiquette Dinner represented a return and an expansion of a well-loved tradition in the School of Business.
“Megan and I began planning the event back in September with the intention of hosting it in the College Terrace as we have in years past,” said Allie Schadoff ’22 (Entrepreneurship; Accounting), Management Association president. “With the help of our generous sponsors from M&T Bank and the support of the School of Business and the Mohonk Mountain House, we were able to put on an elaborate networking hour, four-course dinner, and dining etiquette presentation for about 100 students, faculty and business professionals.”
In addition to the dinner, the event was planned to allow time for networking with local business leaders including Julie Krieger, administrative vice president at M&T Bank, and Mary Ellen Cologero, an M&T Bank senior wealth manager. Dozens of New Paltz students took advantage of the opportunity to speak with Hudson Valley professionals about their journeys and experiences in business.
“I was overwhelmed with the commitment of our students to their investment in their education beyond the classroom,” “Hosting and attending this dinner was the perfect way to end my college career at SUNY New Paltz, and I know it will forever be a memorable day when I reflect on my time here.”
