We are so excited to share that we had the great honor of partnering 19 year Army Veteran Megan with service dog Skye today! Megan has been awarded two Bronze Stars in addition to many other commendations for her heroic service. Skye, sponsored by Salt Air, Inc., is a 2-year-old lab trained to perform tasks that support her Veteran and improve her quality of life. Some of Skye’s skills include alerting for various alarms and completing retrieval tasks. We can’t wait to see all of the adventures this new CFS team has together. Congratulations Meg & Skye!

Did you know September is service dog awareness month? This month is a time devoted to raising awareness and showing appreciation for the remarkable work service dogs do every day for the people in their care. With the help of a service dog, humans can better manage their disabilities and live fuller lives. In the case of Canines for Service, this means giving a Veteran a piece of their life back. Today, we share a statistic that is sadly a reality. Although more Veterans than ever need service dogs, their ability to receive one is incredibly low. This is due to many factors including price and availability. Here at Canines for Service, we are working to change that statistic. To help us continue to serve Veterans the way they have so selflessly served us, donate today at https://lnkd.in/gKteqUYC
