Description
Presented by Ars Lyrica Houston
The most ambitious undertaking of Ars Lyrica’s 2023/24 season is a new production of Handel’s Amadigi di Gaula, one of a handful of “magic” operas he produced during his long career in London. The cast includes four rising stars of the operatic firmament, all ideally suited to this exceptionally beautiful score. Tara Faircloth directs and Matthew Dirst conducts this Houston premiere.
Grammy-nominated ensemble Ars Lyrica Houston specializes in music from the Baroque era, transporting listeners back in time to the “golden age” of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. With a season featuring both masterworks and hidden gems, Ars Lyrica's programs are performed on period instruments with careful attention to historical style and context.
Student tickets are available by will-call only for $15. Student ID must be presented for pickup at the box office will-call window.
