Dr. Jeffrey Watkins Selected as New Chairperson for AOVET Board by AO North America

AO North America is pleased to announce that Dr. Jeffrey Watkins has been elected as the new chairperson of the AOVET North America (AOVETNA) Board.

Watkins is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. He completed his postgraduate training in surgery at Texas A&M University and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Watkins has a long history of activity within AOVETNA and AOVET international as a faculty member, course co-chair and committee member.

Currently, he is a professor of surgery, specializing in equine orthopedics, at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (CVM).

The AOVETNA Board is the governing body of AO North America’s Veterinary practice, which connects surgeons, scientists, and other relevant groups highly specialized in the field of veterinary surgery of the musculoskeletal system in North America. AOVETNA serves as an extension of the international organization, the AO Foundation, and its veterinary group. Annually, AOVETNA hosts a number of continuing education courses for more than 300 professionals in veterinary surgery.
