Summer 2022 Internship: Business Strategy, Supply Chain, Government Relations, and Customer Experience
Washington, D.C.

As part of our small, passionate, team, you will help us develop corporate and business unit strategy and support the execution of our growth initiatives. Interns will work closely on projects with our business units New Shepard, New Glenn, Blue Engines, and Advanced Development Programs by providing analytical support to inform leadership decision-making. Projects may be within the fields of Supply Chain, Strategy, Government Relations, and Marketing & Sales. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Internships are 12-15 weeks long and available year-round in Spring (January-April), Summer (May-September), and Fall (September – December).
Business Strategy –
Responsibilities may include:
Support our business unit financial and strategic objectives
Map and understand industry landscape and competitive dynamics
Analyze strategic tradeoffs and make portfolio recommendations
Develop and deliver content for strategic reviews with leadership
Collaborate with all departments to access and collect data that informs decision-making
Build and maintain tools, analytics, and reporting to highlight performance metrics and other key information
Work with various team members to build reports and run analysis on various ad-hoc projects
Deliver meaningful insights on financial performance and opportunities to reduce costs without impacting performance
Complete cost benefit justifications on strategic decisions
Lead key business analytics initiatives
Qualifications:
Students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or MBA program and have at least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
Aptitude for teamwork with shown potential for leadership
Excellent analytical skill set and attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written communication and presentation skills
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired:
MBA student with undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or other highly analytical field
Demonstrated leadership or management experience in a professional setting
Understanding of the private space industry
Supply Chain –
Responsibilities may include:
Build and maintain tools, analytics, and reporting metrics to drive performance
Lead key business analytics initiatives
Identify and implement cross-functional continuous improvement projects
Develop procurement and material strategies to meet business priorities
Analyze Supply Base trends to optimize strategic sourcing for operations
Complete cost tradeoff analysis on strategic decisions
Qualifications:
Students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or MBA program and have at least one semester of school remaining after the internship.

Government Relations –
Responsibilities may include:
General support of Blue Origin’s government relations objectives
Research and analyze the Congressional landscape, including legislation, hearings, and relevant committee activities
Support development of a wide range of materials for government relations objectives, such as talking points, legislative summaries, and factsheets
Develop and deliver content for strategic reviews with leadership
Collaborate with business units across the company to collect data that informs government relations decision-making
Maintain tools, analytics, and reporting to highlight government relations activities and other key information
Qualifications:
Passion for creating a policy environment that facilitates millions of people living and working in space
Students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or MBA program and have at least one semester of school remaining after the internship
Excellent research, written communication, and presentation skills
Proven understanding of the U.S. legislative process
Demonstrated aptitude for both teamwork and operating as an individual contributor
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired:
Graduate student with undergraduate degree in Government, Public Policy, politics or related field
Prior professional experience in government relations
Demonstrated leadership or management experience in a professional setting
Understanding of the private space industry
Customer Experience –
Responsibilities may include:
Support all front and back of house hospitality operations in the business of launching humans into space
Lead long term projects related to event preparation, scheduling, organization, record keeping, and travel coordination
Lead daily organizational efforts of astronaut clothing, collateral, and gifts
Must be able to take initiative daily and be prepared with one’s own ideas to find ways to contribute to the overall mission
Prepare and aid in set-up of launch viewing parties, celebrations, news broadcasts, and press conferences
Maintain a positive attitude and contribute team spirit
Must be ready and enthusiastic to step into any variety of roles
Collaborate with the Astronaut Village and Training Center departments
Qualifications:
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in hospitality and have at least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
Experience in a high-end customer service, luxury hospitality, or event planning role
Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
High emotional intelligence
Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and customer service capabilities and delivery
Efficiency in high pressure situations
Readiness to travel 75% of time as needed
