Micro-Metcalf Program: Campus Projects | Spring Quarter 2020

Micro-Metcalf Program: Campus Projects

Part of UChicago’s flagship Jeff Metcalf Internship Program, the Micro-Metcalf Program provides paid, remote projects that give students the opportunity to learn new skills, gain substantive experience, and build meaningful professional connections.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build relationships with faculty. Students will also receive a $2,000 stipend from the College for their work.

The Micro-Metcalf Program is seeking applications from College students interested in projects with UChicago academic and administrative departments during Spring Quarter 2020. Selected students will be hired into one of the following cohorts based on their interests, availability, and qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistants – projects supporting teaching and learning activities
  • Research Assistants – projects supporting faculty research
  • Administrative Project Coordinators – projects supporting a diverse range of campus operations (e.g., communications, data analysis, social media, website management)
  • IT Services Virtual Help Desk – projects supporting a new help desk to assist students with technology and remote learning questions

Once a student has been selected for a cohort, Career Advancement will match students with projects offered by campus departments. Since these opportunities are funded by the University, international students can treat these positions as on-campus employment and therefore do not need to apply for CPT.
