Black Lives Matter: Racial Justice and Education
Please join Miami University's Department of Teacher Education on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 3:30pm-5:00pm for a virtual panel discussion on racial justice and education.

The recent deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, Tony McDade, and countless other Black people have generated new civil rights urgencies in Black communities and spirited academic discourses in and beyond higher education regarding the conditions of Black people in America. Join Black faculty as well as students (both past and present) from the Department of Teacher Education as we discuss both the experiences of Black pre-service teachers and the impacts that these new, yet very familiar, discourses on American race relations have within the field of teacher education.

This panel will be facilitated by Teacher Education faculty member Dr. Nathaniel Bryan and doctoral student Rachel McMillian with alumni and current student panelists: Genesis Ross, Rachel Hollins, Janae Sneed, Sydnie Singleton, Alaysia Plair-Easton, and Jeremy Allen.

To register for this virtual panel, please complete the form below. A link to participate will be sent to you closer to the day of the event.
