Men’s Soccer: Ravens Battle with 12th ranked CNU But Fall in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament

Brady Hochman made 11 saves anchoring the Ravens defense

Rosemont, PA – The Rosemont Ravens (10-3-5) fell to 12th ranked and host Christopher Newport University (13-3-2) Saturday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA tournament. This tightly contested match was the first meeting between the two schools and was decided in the final eight minutes of regulation.

Senior Brady Hochman was spectacular in goal for the Ravens. Hochman made 11 saves and help anchor a stingy Ravens defense who came in allowing under one goal per game and the fewest goals allowed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference this season. The Ravens and the Captains played to a tight first half draw, before the Ravens almost got the scoring started on a header by Max Hawk that went high in 73rd minutes. The Ravens played down one player for most of the second half before Christopher Newport's Chris Schram found the back of the net on a free kick in the 81st minute of the second half.
