Spark* SF Public Schools raised $16 million through its COVID-19 Response Fund to help SFUSD deliver more than 7.2 million free meals and 48,000 digital devices for learning.

SFUSD is planning to offer general education transportation services to K-8 students at a limited number of schools.

We are thrilled that Juneteenth is now an official holiday and will work to make changes to our calendar in future years. At SFUSD we are actively serving students and families who are counting on us to be open tomorrow. All staff are required to work as scheduled.

On Friday, June 18, SFUSD will be updating ParentVUE to show summer school 2021 student information. Students who have recently graduated or left SFUSD will no longer have access to their documents.

SFUSD will send and post Summer Digests on June 30 and July 28. We will continue to provide regular updates regarding Fall 2021 through website announcements, monthly e-newsletters, social media and at regularly scheduled Board of Education meetings.

All SFUSD schools will be fully open on August 16, 2021. Every school will start at one of three times: 7:50 am, 8:40 am, or 9:30 am

Each year, SFUSD teams up with SF Public Library to create recommended reading lists for PreK through high school students. Check out these books!

All SFUSD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, May 31 in observance of Memorial Day.

Graduations for All will provide staggered ceremonies on June 1-3, 2021 for 4,000 public school graduates.

The access issue with Zoom experienced earlier today, April 23, has been resolved. SFUSD will continue to monitor Zoom access throughout the day. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

SFUSD is partnering with San Francisco on the Summer Together Initiative, which will offer free in-person and virtual summer camps and programs for thousands of SFUSD youth. Early registration is April 19 to May 7 for some populations, and open enrollment begins May 8.

We currently have a limited pool of substitute teachers. As a result, there may be an instance where a substitute teacher will not be available to cover an in-person classroom teacher’s absence.

Google has resolved the service interruption to Drive and Classroom. All services have been fully restored and are functioning properly as of 9:20 a.m.

Free Grab & Go meals will continue to be available when schools begin to reopen for in-person learning, though there will be some changes. See here for all updates.

Forms can be filled out online in ParentVUE or turned in on paper to your school on the first day.

The 2021-22 school year starts on August 16, 2021.

SFUSD families are invited to join upcoming town halls to receive information about school reopenings and other topics.

Last month the superintendent announced he would retire on June 30, 2021. After discussions with SF Board of Education President Gabriela Lopez, he has agreed to remain serving as SFUSD’s superintendent for another year.

There will be limited live instruction days for elementary school students from April 5 to April 8.

We are preparing for the return of extracurricular athletics for high school student athletes to practice and compete this spring, beginning April 12, 2021. More detailed information about each sport will be shared in the coming weeks.
