Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals is here to provide a wide range of services to ensure you have the support you need. From acute illness and injury care to routine check-ups, we’ve got you covered.

Besides general and acute medical care, our services include allergy injections, blood pressure screenings, and contraception services, including emergency contraceptives like Plan B. Services are available to UWM students currently enrolled in classes for credit AND who have paid the student segregated fee. UWM faculty/staff are NOT eligible to use the Student Health and Wellness Center (SHAW).

Do you bill my insurance?

No, the Student Health and Wellness Center does not take insurance. Certain services must be paid out of pocket, but general appointments typically have no cost.

Students can submit their receipts to their outside insurance provider to request reimbursement, but we cannot guarantee coverage.

Are your services confidential?

Students over the age of 18 or needing STI testing do not require parental/guardian consent to use our services. Your medical records are protected under FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), and only upon your documented release will a parent/guardian have access to your records.
