Steven Curtis Chapman Inks New Deal With Provident Label Group
Chapman is also prepping the release of "Still," the first single from an upcoming project.
Steven Curtis Chapman has signed a new label deal with Provident Label Group, since last working with PLG on the 2016 album Worship and Believe. Chapman’s previous deal with PLG concluded in 2017.

It is a privilege to work with this talented artist and his team to help carry these new songs to listeners worldwide.”
On Friday (May 27), Chapman will release a new song, “Still,” which will serve as the first track from an upcoming album released via Provident Label Group. The album is the first since Chapman’s 2019 independent bluegrass album, Deeper Roots: Where The Bluegrass Grows, which earned Chapman his 18th Grammy nomination.

“I’m very grateful to my friends and family at Provident for believing in this project and showing me the support and encouragement they have with this upcoming release,” Chapman tells Billboard of the signing and upcoming album. For the new project, Chapman worked with collaborators including his sons Caleb and Will (of the band Colony House).
“I feel like the music and the production is as good as anything I’ve ever done,” Chapman adds.
This year also marks the 35th anniversary of the release of Chapman’s debut album, 1987’s First Hand, which included the singles “Weak Days” and “Hiding Place.”
