Joe has Midwestern origins growing up on a farm in Nebraska. He did a stint in the U.S. Navy before obtaining an undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. In 2012 he went to Arkansas to work on a master’s degree in Recreation and Sports Management and worked in the Outdoor Connection Center. From 2014-2018 he ran the Outdoor program at the University of Nebraska – Omaha. In 2018 he moved to Portland to work at Nike on their world headquarters campus in Beaverton. He started at Portland State as the Member Services Coordinator in 2019.
Outside of work, Joe is passionate about rock climbing, exploring the outdoors, movies, reading, listening to podcasts, and spending time with his wife Kylie and their friends. An avid sports fan he follows the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Portland Trail Blazers most closely.
