Today, Metal Rules exclusively premieres the new music video from BC metallers PILLARS OF A TWISTED CITY for “Falling Through The Roof”. An eerie music video complete with epic explosions, spooktacular clips and everything in between, it can be viewed above! It is the fifth one to come off of the band’s sophomore album Sentinel out now via Debt Offensive Records. Listen to the album HERE!
“Sonically, the single takes influence from Deep Purple, Alice In Chains, My Bloody Valentine. If you listen closely you’ll hear those influences in the music and the vocal layering. Lyrically, the song speaks about people that pass through our lives with false expectations and inflated egos,” explains frontman Johnny Stewart.
Inspired by time spent in the Pacific Northwest, Stewart composed Sentinel in Tofino, Canada, and tracked many of the instruments in an isolated floating studio in Clayoquot Sound titled “Sentinel”. This beautiful backdrop influenced a lot of the sound and direction of the record as Stewart explains, “Thematically the isolation upon the ocean with only eagles, orcas, and meteorites inspired creative sounds. The songs came out naturally with additional influence and inspiration from events around us in the world over the last few years.”The album finds Stewart incorporating banjo, accordion, and classical nylon string guitar into his compositions.
Earlier this year Pillars of a Twisted City released the music video for the album’s fourth single “Incinerator” as well as third single “Significant Tragedies“. The group also premiered their “Subatomic Love” music video via CVLT Nation which followed the Bandcamp release of “Winters Blood“.
