Lead Me to the Rock

To the choirmaster: with ^(A)stringed instruments. Of David.

61 Hear my cry, O God,
    ^(B)listen to my prayer;
²from the end of the earth I call to you
    when my heart is ^(C)faint.
Lead me to ^(D)the rock
    that is higher than I,
³for you have been ^(E)my refuge,
    a strong ^(F)tower against the enemy.

⁴Let me ^(G)dwell in your tent forever!
Let me take refuge under ^(H)the shelter of your wings! Selah
⁵For you, O God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

⁶^(I)Prolong ^(J)the life of the king;
may his years endure to all generations!
⁷May he be enthroned forever before God;
appoint ^(K)steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!

⁸So will I ever sing praises to your name,
as I ^(L)perform my vows day after day.

My Soul Waits for God Alone

62 For God alone ^(N)my soul ^(O)waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation.
²^(P)He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my ^(Q)fortress; ^(R)I shall not be greatly shaken.

³How long will all of you attack a man
    to batter him,
    like ^(S)a leaning wall, a tottering fence?
⁴They only plan to thrust him down from his ^(T)high position.
    They take pleasure in falsehood.
^(U)They bless with their mouths,
    but inwardly they curse. Selah

⁵For God alone, O ^(V)my soul, wait in silence,
    for my hope is from him.
⁶^(W)He only is my rock and my salvation,
    my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
⁷On God rests my ^(X)salvation and my glory;
    my mighty rock, ^(Y)my refuge is God.

⁸^(Z)Trust in him at all times, O people;
^(AA)pour out your heart before him;
God is ^(AB)a refuge for us. Selah

⁹^(AC)Those of low estate are but a breath;
    those of high estate ^(AD)are a delusion;
in the balances they go up;
    ^(AE)they are together lighter than a breath.
¹⁰Put no trust in extortion;
    ^(AF)set no vain hopes on robbery;
    ^(AG)if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

¹¹^(AH)Once God has spoken;
    ^(AI)twice have I heard this:
that ^(AJ)power belongs to God,
¹²    and that to you, O Lord, ^(AK)belongs steadfast love.
For you will ^(AL)render to a man
    according to his work.

O God of Our Salvation

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song.

65 Praise ^(A)is due to you,^[a] O God, in Zion,
    and to you shall ^(B)vows be performed.
²O you who ^(C)hear prayer,
    to you ^(D)shall all flesh come.
³When ^(E)iniquities prevail against me,
    you ^(F)atone for our transgressions.
⁴^(G)Blessed is the one you choose and bring near,
    to ^(H)dwell in your courts!
We shall be ^(I)satisfied with the goodness of your house,
    the holiness of your temple!

⁵By ^(J)awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness,
    O God of our salvation,
the hope of all ^(K)the ends of the earth
    and of the farthest seas;
⁶the one who by his strength established the mountains,
    being ^(L)girded with might;
⁷who ^(M)stills the roaring of the seas,
    the roaring of their waves,
    ^(N)the tumult of the peoples,
⁸so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs.
You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.

⁹You visit the earth and ^(O)water it;^[b]
    you greatly enrich it;
^(P)the river of God is full of water;
    ^(Q)you provide their grain,
    for so you have prepared it.
¹⁰You water its furrows abundantly,
    settling its ridges,
softening it with ^(R)showers,
    and blessing its growth.
¹¹You crown the year with your bounty;
    your wagon tracks ^(S)overflow with abundance.
¹²^(T)The pastures of the wilderness overflow,
    the hills ^(U)gird themselves with joy,
¹³^(V)the meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
    the valleys deck themselves with grain,
    they ^(W)shout and sing together for joy.

One of You Will Betray Me

²¹After saying these things, ^(A)Jesus was troubled in his spirit, and testified, ^(B)“Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(C)one of you will betray me.” ²²^(D)The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke. ²³^(E)One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining at table ^(F)at Jesus' side,^[a] ²⁴so Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus^[b] of whom he was speaking. ²⁵^(G)So that disciple, ^(H)leaning back against Jesus, said to him, “Lord, who is it?” ²⁶Jesus answered, ^(I)“It is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread ^(J)when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the morsel, ^(K)he gave it to Judas, ^(L)the son of Simon Iscariot. ²⁷Then after he had taken the morsel, ^(M)Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, ^(N)“What you are going to do, do quickly.” ²⁸Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him. ²⁹Some thought that, ^(O)because Judas had the moneybag, Jesus was telling him, “Buy what we need ^(P)for the feast,” or that he should ^(Q)give something to the poor. ³⁰So, after receiving the morsel of bread, he immediately went out. ^(R)And it was night.

A New Commandment

³¹When he had gone out, Jesus said, ^(S)“Now is the Son of Man glorified, and ^(T)God is glorified in him. ³²If God is glorified in him, ^(U)God will also glorify him in himself, and ^(V)glorify him at once. ³³Little children, ^(W)yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just ^(X)as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ ³⁴^(Y)A new commandment ^(Z)I give to you, ^(AA)that you love one another: ^(AB)just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. ³⁵^(AC)By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Jesus Foretells Peter's Denial

³⁶Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” ^(AD)Jesus answered him, “Where I am going ^(AE)you cannot follow me now, ^(AF)but you will follow afterward.” ³⁷^(AG)Peter said to him, “Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.” ³⁸Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(AH)the rooster will not crow till you have denied me three times.
