moCa 15 minutes of... Digital Engagement Application
moCa realizes that because of the Coronavirus outbreak, many of the artists with whom we normally collaborate and employ on a seasonal and/or part-time basis are presently without work. We have pivoted to producing online programming, including 15 minutes of..., a weekly series that invites local artists (this means you!) to create a work of art.

The concept is simple: Create a work of art in 15 minutes or less. You will livestream your progress and provide commentary throughout, giving audiences a look into your practices, thought processes, and the spaces in which you create. Upon completion, the works produced in 15 minutes of... will be given away free-of-charge through a lottery on moCa’s social media pages.

Artists selected to produce a 15 minutes of... segment will receive a $250 fee, which is meant to cover the cost of labor and preparation, the supplies you will be using in your home to create the work, and the value of the final artwork.

Interested artists should apply below. Please note, in order to be selected, you must have an internet connection, the willingness to be on camera, and access to a computer or mobile device that can support Zoom, the platform which we will be using to livestream.

If selected, you agree to virtually meet with moCa's Curator of Public Programs, Lauren Leving, and Media + Programs Production Manager, Kory Dakin, in advance of filming your Connect to Creativity segment to discuss content and ensure you have the needed technology. You also agree to hold your artwork until moCa reopens and deliver it to the museum so that we can mail it to the raffle winner.

Applications must be submitted by: Friday, June 19 at midnight. If you have concerns about meeting this deadline, please contact Lauren directly at lleving@mocacleveland.org.

Applications will be reviewed by our curatorial team and selected artists will be notified by Wednesday, June 24.
