Sole Study

Savor the last sips of summer at the next Frist Friday!

Join us on Friday evening, August 22, for a Mediterranean-themed evening amid Venice and the Ottoman Empire. Break out your breeziest coastal chic looks and come dance, mingle, and make art!

Enjoy a lively evening with DJ Amy Darling spinning tunes in the lobby and a special performance by lutenist Francis Perry. Join engaging Art Chats led by Frist staff and thought leaders in our community, take part in a scavenger hunt for hidden gems, pose for a personalized keepsake watercolor portrait, and more!

New school tour options this year!

We are excited to offer new curriculum-connected school tours that connect art with classroom learning. This fall, Literacy Connections (ELA) tours pair with Fabric of a Nation and New African Masquerades, and STEAM Connections tours follow in the spring. These interactive experiences support academic standards while making learning fun and memorable.

Explore creative ArtQuest activities inspired by historical Mediterranean cultures!

Dive into our lineup of art activities in Martin ArtQuest inspired by Venice and the Ottoman Empire. Try your hand at drawing a self-portrait inspired by the powerful Venetian doges, or design your own shield. Build an ancient Italian city at the block table, create a shimmering painting using gold watercolor, and help weave a collaborative sculpture. And don’t miss the chance to sketch a mannequin dressed in an elaborate doge’s outfit!
