TRACI OTEY BLUNT NAMED NEW SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

The National Football League has named Traci Otey Blunt as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications. Blunt, who has over 20 years of communications experience, most recently served as President of the Urban Movie Channel. She will start on October 1.

As Senior Vice President, Blunt will lead communications strategies across key areas within the League, including current affairs, business operations, NFL Media, government affairs, health and safety, and social responsibility. Blunt will be based at the League headquarters in New York and will report to Jocelyn Moore, EVP, Communications and Public Affairs.

"We are excited to have Traci join the communications team and welcome her to the NFL family," said Moore. "Traci has a wide range of experience across various business sectors that will be a tremendous asset to the League, and we look forward to the leadership and energy that she will bring to the NFL."

"I am thrilled to join the NFL during this exciting and transformative time, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to further develop, promote, and execute the League's strategic direction," said Blunt.

Blunt joins the NFL having served for 10 years as a trusted communications and corporate affairs advisor to Robert L. Johnson, founder of The RLJ Companies and Black Entertainment Television. As president of the Urban Movie Channel, Blunt leveraged her experience in building brands and leading consumer campaigns to launch and grow the first premium subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) channel focused on Black film and TV. Blunt first went to work for Johnson in 2008 as SVP for Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at The RLJ Companies. Prior to RLJ, Blunt worked in various communications and public affairs positions, including at two global PR agencies as well as on mayoral, gubernatorial, and presidential campaigns.

Blunt has been honored with multiple national awards including being named one of the Top 25 Most Influential Black Women in Business from The Network Journal, honored with the Circle Award from ColorComm and recognized as a Champion of PR from PR Week. Blunt has also been featured in national media articles, such as Mocha Market magazine's "Women in Charge, On Fire and Changing the World: National Advisor to Presidential Contender and Business Tycoon."

Blunt earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Tennessee State University where she has since been recognized with the university's Women of Legend & Merit honor and the national alumni association's Women of Influence award. Blunt is married, and they have one daughter.
