Logger crew is back

TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound crew teams got the 2023-24 season started this past weekend, competing in the American Lake Fall Classic. The women's varsity 8+ boat finished third for the bronze with a time of 20:34 with the University of Portland taking first (18:55), followed by Seattle Pacific University (20:00).

The women's JV 8+ also finished in third place with a time of 22:56, behind the University of Portland and Seattle Pacific. Other races included two boat entries for the 4+ event with one team placing fourth and the second finishing eighth after experiencing equipment malfunction.  

On the men's side, the 4+ boat crossed the finish line in first place with a time of 21:28. In addition, Quincy Buickerood also rowed the single scull to a 2nd place finish with a time of 23:11. The event concludes the fall season for the crew program which will resume its competitive season in March 2024.  

On Saturday, the Logger women had an opportunity to meet with Puget Sound's 2003 NCAA National Runners Up team members that had been inducted into the Puget Sound Athletic Hall of Fame the previous evening. The group enjoyed the morning to exchange experiences and also get out on the water.
