Last year, trading crowded Valentine's Day dining rooms for heat-at-home tasting menus felt novel. Now it's apparently part of the landscape, even though plenty of restaurants will be opening their doors (and their patios) to in-person diners on February 14. See our list of indoor and outdoor IRL Valentine menus right over here.

To amplify the weirdness, Valentine's Day falls on a Monday this year. Some places will be open, others have special menus or takeaway pickup windows happening over the weekend; the entries below will note any arrangements that don't specifically happen on the 14th. Also, not to make assumptions about anybody's romantic life, but prices listed are for two unless otherwise noted.

We will update this list as more menus roll in.

Metropolitan Grill

Downtown

The $185 three course, oven-ready meal for two comes with crab and artichoke dip (with a mini baguette), a filet mignon paired with roasted prawn scampi, and finishes with a dark chocolate bombe duo that stars strawberry and passion fruit. A bottle (or two) of wine are available to add on, but pre-orders must be placed by February 9th for pick up or delivery from the 12th to the 14th.

Spice Waala

Ballard, Capitol Hill

A special three-course menu mixes sweetness and spice, Indian flavors and other influences, like scotch egg made with ground lamb and garnished with housemade ketchup. Each one-person meal is $45, and also includes a braised lamb shank entrée and a rose cardamom tart. Takeout only, available on Saturday February 12.

Eden Hill

Queen Anne

Maximillian and Jennifer Petty’s creative flagship is putting together a $150 meal that will only require light reheating. Sign up on Tock to be notified when orders go live.

Mioposto

Admiral, Bryant, Mt. Baker, Mercer Island

Once again, this neighborly quartet of local pizzerias has assembled a cook-at-home rib eye dinner kit that comes with a video tutorial (the same one from last time) and a playlist curated by the staff (new for the year). Plus salad, dessert, and a bottle from DeLille Cellars. A deluxe version adds cocktails and antipasti, and a single-serving version reinforces that everyone deserves, um, fancy meat on this day, regardless of their relationship status. Order online, or over the phone starting February 8, for weekend pickup February 11–14.

Lark

Capitol Hill

The inimitable John Sundstrom is prepping a Lark-level home meal: snacks plus starters, beef tenderloin with potatoes Robuchon (or spaghettini with dungeness), plus dessert and a bottle of sparkling rosé. It’s $140 per person; pick up on Saturday, February 12.

Omega Ouzeri

Capitol Hill

Thomas Soukakos’s fantastic, most ambitious (and sadly, last remaining), Greek restaurant knows how to win diners’ hearts: with a la carte. Most Valentine’s menus are fixed price situations; this is an order-your-own lineup of oysters, baby lamb chops, grilled octopus, baklava, and way more. Order online via Tock.

The London Plane

Pioneer Square

An elegantly vegetal three-course meal you can pick up on Valentine’s Day (between 10 and 2) and heat at home. It’s $120 and centers on bone-in braised short ribs. Order by February 7.

Willmott’s Ghost

Denny Regrade

A two-person $80 meal requires only minor prep in exchange for a burrata and bitter greens salad, spaghetti alla chitarra, flourless chocolate cake, and drinks. Add-ons include flowers, meatballs, and beverages. Pick up February 11–14 at Renee Erickson’s restaurant beneath the Spheres

Cafe Flora

Madison Valley

Four courses, all vegan and gluten-free, from the town’s meat-free legend. Highlights include artichoke croquettes and a chocolate tower. Order the $150 two-person dinner for pickup on February 14 (wine pairings are available too).

Le Coin

Fremont

Technically this spot is a neighborhood restaurant, but with a destination’s worth of welcome and charm. This year chef Josh Delgado has assembled a four-course, two-person take-home kit that includes Washington wagyu, seared scallops, a legit seafood bisque (with dungeness, spot prawns, and razor clams) and dessert. Supplements abound.

Frank’s Oyster House and Champagne Parlor

Ravenna

A takeout version of the restaurant’s Valentine’s Day menu includes saffron potato leek soup, scallop crudo, and short ribs with pomegranate molasses barbecue sauce, or dungeness crab pappardelle. Dinner for two is $200, available for pickup Friday and Saturday, February 11 and 12.

Lil Red Catering and Takeout

Columbia City

If your version of romance is less about multicourse menus and more about chicken wings and plantain waffles, Erasto Jackson is ready. His Jamaican soul food restaurant will fill a heart-shaped container with two portions of butter burger sliders, jumbo wings, jerk fried chicken and plantain waffles, or fettuccini. Orders are open until February 12.
