Sustainability Course Attributes
The Sustainability Course Attribute (SUST) is awarded to courses that incorporate key sustainability concepts and align learning outcomes with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These courses, available across various departments at the University of Utah, are listed in the general course catalog and semester class schedules. Lists of SUST courses for Spring 2025 and Summer 2025 semesters are available.
Benefits of the SUST Attribute:
- For Students: Easily identify courses with sustainability content relevant to interests and degrees.
- For Faculty: SUST course instructors qualify for faculty incentives from the Applied Sustainability Learning Program.
- For the University: Demonstrates the university’s comprehensive sustainability curriculum, recognized by STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System). Supports Education Goal 2.0 of the university's Climate Action Plan (CAP): Graduate students with knowledge and skills to address climate-related challenges and opportunities.
