Drop-In Days of Service
What are Drop-in Days of Service?
Drop-in Days of Service are on-campus opportunities for students to "drop in" and complete service projects for service hours. They are located on GVSU's Allendale Campus in Kirkhof Center (room numbers vary, please see below for more specific information). At these days of service, students will learn more about different Nonprofit Organizations and how they help the community around Grand Valley. Students will also be able to find good places to volunteer at in the future.
Be on the lookout for more Drop-in Days of Service hosted by various student organizations as well!
Drop-in Days of Service Projects
Projects may include:
- Decorating paper bags for Kids Food Basket
- Upcycling t-shirts into dog toys for the Humane Society
- Making cards for children in the hospital, seniors, and soldiers
- Making Bravery Bracelets for the Children's Advocacy Center
- Affirmation bookmarks for SLD Read
- Teacher appreciation cards
- Positivity Pebbles for Blandford Nature Center
- Assembling native prairie seeds

Community Partners: Ottawa County Parks & Samaritas Service Activity: It's a month of love. Join us and let us make Valentine's Day cards for our senior citizens at Samaritas and sort out seeds for our parks in Ottawa County. |

Friday 3/15/24 |
Community Partner 1: SLD Read Service Activity 1: Making Bookmarks. We are working on a bunch of books that need to be wrapped “blind date with a book” style for SLD Read’s community events. Community Partner 2: Heart of West Michigan United Way Service Activity 2: Join the party and help us create 150 awesome containers filled with detergent as we celebrate feminine hygiene with United Way! No prior detergent-making skills needed – just swing by, pick up a new skill, and be a part of making a positive impact. |
