Music video company launches in Memphis

Six award-winning music video directors have brought together their talents to create a music video production company.
Team Electron will serve musicians, labels and management agencies nationwide with their distinct brand of creative direction. The company offers concept consultation, scheduling and producing, directing, cinematography, editing and special effects among other services.

The business came about as members of the team realized they could help artists wade through the difficulties of finding a production team.

“We observed through our years of experience that finding a director can be difficult,” said Edward Valibus, one of six directors on the team along with GB Shannon, Brad Phelan, Christopher Reyes, Ryan Earl Parker and Sarah Fleming. “Most directors in Memphis are found by word of mouth or knowing someone who knows someone. Instead of searching each individual director’s website and portfolio, we saw an opportunity to make a super team of directors with Electron where musicians and labels can go to one site to see multiple directors for hire.”

Most of the team is based in Memphis, although they do travel to other cities to produce videos. The company handles the whole music video production process, including creative concept planning, writing, producing, crew hire and scheduling, location scouting, directing, cinematography, editing and special effects.

Valibus said the full range of music video production services can be hard to find in Memphis, particularly under one roof, so to speak.

“If Memphis is a music city then no doubt it should also be a music video city,” he said. “We hope to connect the amazingly talented musicians here with amazingly talented directors. We also want to showcase Memphis as a place for out-of-town musicians to come here and produce their music video with a team experienced with the location and vibe of this city.”
